“Ersatzstadt” is a new common soft city with fragments of Hamburg, without really being Hamburg 
- the individuals of the city make it alive.

The exhibition will develop on location, with threads out into the urban space. With a reference to the mask dancer and costume designer Lavinia Schulz (1896-1924), I will pay tribute to the co-creation and the Gesamtkunstwerk. Lavinia and her husband musician Walther Holdt (1899 – 1924) were part of Hamburg’s art scene in the 20s and they held a number of parties at the Arts and Crafts School (later Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg) where artists improvised with sets, costumes, music and dance.

I want to build a textile city inside Projectraum DOSE. Therefore, I would be grateful if you would like to send me a picture of a favourite place, or of a place in the city that you dislike. A tower, a door, a section of a building – preferably with a text – approx. 10 lines.
